The George on the Riverwalk in Wilmington

The atmosphere, food and service were very good at The George. Watching over the river walk and boats on the river were very nice while we shared cocktails and dinner. We sat on the upper deck with a roof overhead. Even at 7 pm and 85 degrees, we were comfortable. The reason for three stars is that the cost charged for the food portions received and the lack or minimal alcohol in the mixed drinks left me very disappointed and taken advantage of.This is a high tourist area. It is also during COVID-19. I understand the need for an abbreviated menu, staff, and all necessary precautions. Fortunately, we got to see and walk the river walk. Unfortunately, we will not return to The George.

Good food and even better views of the Cape Fear river. This restaurant is connected to the river walk of Wilmington and is one of the best eateries along the way. The lamb appetizer is a personal favorite.

Good food! On the river, lots of choices, some exotic with an overall postive experience. This is the first place I have been that has alligator. I’m sure more places do but I have not been there yet. The staff was kind, and my waiter did not leave me hanging. However they also did not bother me non-stop. The portions were a good size. What a great experience will be back again.
